Back in 1983/84 a young man by the name of Jayme Hull was
introduced to hip hop at an early age from school trips to the local
roller rink where he would hear the DJ playing Herbie Hancock’s
“Rockit”, Chaka Khan’s “I Feel For You”, Newcleus’ “Jam On It’ amongst
other tracks. It was in 1984 that he first purchased the K-Tel
“Breakdance” compilation and the breakdancing Jayme was born. In the
late 80’s Jayme could be found in every record store in Ontario and
Michigan that he could find purchasing the latest hip hop records.
Jayme was first introduced to the art of DJ’ing in the late 80’s and from
there DJ Hullewud was born and continues on to this day. In the 27+
years of being a DJ he has had the opportunity to back artists such as
Fatlip (formerly of The Pharcyde), RA The Rugged Man, Maestro Fresh-
Wes, Choclair, Dan-e-o, Eternia, Reggie Reg amongst many others and
has also had the opportunity to open for House Of Pain, Zion-I, Phife
Dawg, Shad, Blueprint, El Da Sensei, Sean Price and many others. DJ
Hullewud is also the official DJ for Moore & Exit Only and The Nicest.
